The November full moon is known as the Full Beaver Moon – in 2025 the full moon is in Taurus, peaking at 6:20 AM, MST – 13 Tau 23′. During the month of November, beavers would be harvested for their pelts, as their fur would get very thick in preparation for winter. It is sometimes called the Trading Moon, the Full Sassafras Moon, Frost Moon, Oak Moon, Dark Moon, Fog Moon and the Mourning Moon (since it is the last full moon before the Winter Solstice). 2025’s Full Beaver Moon will be the second Supermoon of the year.
It marks the turning of the seasons — the moment when the land draws inward and the Great Wheel creaks toward several months of darkness. In ancient times, the beaver, master builder of the waterways, became a symbol of preparedness, persistence, and home. A symbol of surviving what is to come through steady labor and foresight. Its pull is heavy with grounding energy, urging us to anchor our spirits, to finish what remains undone, and to find strength in stillness. The Beaver Supermoon calls us to honor the work behind us and to trust the slow rhythm of endurance that carries us into winter’s quiet arms.
This is a moon of gathering — of closing, mending, and readying. As the final full moon before the long rest, it reminds us that not all growth is visible, that much of the world’s magic now happens beneath the soil.
Preparing for this Full Beaver Moon Ritual
White candle (for the Moon)
Brown or dark green candle (for Earth)
Small bowl of salt water
Bundle of cleansing herbs or incense (cedar, pine, or sage)
Paper and pen
Bonfire or burning bowl
Small piece of wood for grounding
Optional: warm beverage or tea for post-ritual reflection

Calling the Directions
East
With reverence, turn with me first to the East – Spirits of the morning sun, breath of dawn and silver sky, we call you now. You are the whisper that clears the mind, the cool wind that carries vision and truth. Blow gently through this circle and remind us that even as the year wanes, new beginnings are born in every thought and breath. South
Now look to the direction of the great forges – Spirits of the South, flame of endurance and quiet will, we invite you to this circle. You are the last warmth of the year, the ember that refuses to fade. Burn within us the courage to complete what we have begun, and to walk forward unafraid of the dark. Bring passion to our purpose and resolve to our dreams. <Light the brown candle>
West
Next, we turn and commune with the Spirits of the West, deep waters of memory and emotion, flow through this sacred space. You are the tide that draws all things home. As the rivers freeze and the rains turn to snow, help us release what must be carried away. Let tears cleanse, let reflection heal, and let the heart settle into peace. <Sprinkle the salt water on the area around the altar>
North
Now embrace the Spirits of the North in our final turn, these great keepers of stone and soil, we honor your strength and resilience. You hold the slumbering seeds, the bones of ancestors, the truth that endures beyond the seasons. Stand with us now, that we may root ourselves in your stillness and carry your steadiness through the long nights ahead. <Hold the piece of wood before you and show it to the group>
Spirit
The lunar energy is powerful tonight; the air is alive with a supercharged crispness that calls to each and every one of us. The Beaver Supermoon vast and near is a lantern of patience above the silent earth. <light the white candle>

Our Night’s Working – Reflecting, Cleansing, and Realizing Unseen Growth Opportunities
With the year coming to a close, tonight is a perfect time to reflect upon the events which shaped you, gave you pause, and even those which took you a step or two backwards. The universe is always shifting, sometimes in what feels like our favor, and other times seemingly working against us. Yet, we must understand that these are only perceptions, figments of our own interpretation, and neither for nor against us. They are simply universal truths being shared with the world. Aligning with all of them might seem to be a goal, when in reality, it’s not possible.
As the universe moves, so do we; each in our own direction and our own circle. Powerful energies, such as the lunar energy of full and dark moon, combine with the grounding energy of earth, and other cosmic energies provide us with a source of power. If we grasp and embrace these powers, our workings will grow stronger, our focus more direct, and the illumination of our chose path even more clear.
I implore you to take some time and reflect on what you have built this year, both spiritually, and physically. What dreams took form? What labors have come to their end? What weight do you still carry that no longer serves your spirit? How have you let others influence you? Did you choose to take chances or remain in a safe place? Remember that you answer to no one but yourself. Your goals are yours and your alone, neither available for others to judge or for the world to choose.
Now, write freely. Let your words fall from you like dry leaves from a branch. Fill the paper with anything that you wish to bring to light, regrets, missed or stolen opportunities, victories, romances, new life, death, bargains, blocks, friendships, and memories. Reflection is not just good and bad, but both and everything in between. This great annual recap is a critical time. Gather the lunar energy of the full beaver moon and inject it into this reflection and focus on those unseen opportunities that might have slipped by. Do not punish yourself, rather, refresh them, energize them, and put them into play for the coming dark season to plan on ways to make them reality.

To the West, realm of deep waters and endless dreams, we offer gratitude. You have carried away our burdens and returned us to balance. As the long nights come, let your calm flow through our sleep and your wisdom rise with each tide. South
To the South, the fire of endurance and passion’s flame, we honor your courage and light. You have burned away what no longer serves, leaving only what is strong and true. Depart in peace, and may your ember glow within us through the cold season ahead. <Extinguish the brown candle>
East
To the East, breath of dawn and endless renewal, we thank you for clarity and inspiration. As the circle opens, carry our prayers to the rising sun. Let new dreams take wing when winter yields to spring. Depart in peace and may your winds guide us home. <symbolize embracing the wind>
Spirit
