The September Full Moon, known this year as the Corn Moon, arrives at a pivotal moment in the seasonal cycle. Peaking on September 7, 2025, at 12:10 PM MST, this lunation rests at 15° Pisces 22′. While often September holds the honor of the Harvest Moon — the full moon nearest the Autumn Equinox — this year that title belongs to October. Instead, the Corn Moon rises as a symbol of ripeness, preparation, and transition, bridging the light of summer with the shadow of autumn.
The Corn Moon has been called by many names across cultures. Among them are the Nut Moon, the Child Moon, the Autumn Moon, the Falling Leaves Moon, the Mating Moon, the Rice Moon, the Singing Moon, and the Yellow Leaf Moon. Each name reflects the shifting rhythms of nature — fields heavy with corn and grain, nuts dropping to the forest floor, and leaves beginning their slow descent. It is a time when animals prepare for winter, seeds are gathered, and the first hints of seasonal change whisper through the air.
In some parts of the world, this will be a blood moon, due to the total lunar eclipse. North America will not see this eclipse, as the Moon will be set during the event.
This ritual is designed to help you balance gratitude for the abundance around you with Pisces’ call for release, healing, and deepened intuition. It will draw upon the imagery of flowing waters, golden harvests, and the quiet voice within that longs to be heard.

Preparing for the Ritual of Reflection and Release
For this ritual, gather the following:
A white candle (to represent the full moon)
A blue or silver candle (to represent Pisces and water energy)
A bowl of water (preferably with floating petals or herbs such as chamomile or lavender)
A small token of the harvest (corn, grain, nut, or seed)
Paper and pencils (for each participant)
A bowl of salt water for cleansing or dissolving paper
Sage, cedar, or incense for smudging
This ritual should be performed outside around a fire

Casting the Circle
<Using your smudging item, slowly walk the perimeter of the ritual space.>
“I cleanse this place of doubt and distraction. I call upon the light of the Corn Moon to bring clarity, wisdom, and serenity to this circle. Let only truth and purpose enter here.”
<Begin to cast the circle with deliberate motion, visualizing a boundary of shimmering moonlight forming around you.>
“I cast this circle, woven of moonlight and dream, strong and fluid like water, vast and eternal like the harvest fields. Here we gather as seekers of wisdom, as keepers of truth, and as spirits of transformation.”
Calling the Directions
East – Air
Winds of the East, whisper clarity and vision into our hearts. Carry our thoughts to higher places and let our words be filled with truth, and the understanding that we must stand firm in our convictions
South – Fire
Flames of the South, ignite our passion for sustained growth. Burn away any hesitation and fuel the courage to embrace change, both big and small, with steady hearts
West – Water
Waters of the West, never ceasing, never ending, we ask that you flow through this circle with compassion and cleansing. Wash away illusion and open the gates of intuition
North – Earth
The North is the foundation of life. We call upon the strength of the stones and the flexibility of the trees.. Ground us in abundance and remind us of the cycles that bind us to all that is
Invocation of the Corn Moon
<Light the white candle.>
Corn Moon, shining bright in the waters of Pisces, illuminate the balance between the physical and the spiritual. Bless this circle with wisdom gathered and illusions shed. May your light reveal what is hidden and guide us into clarity. May you bring blessings upon us all as the great wheel turns revealing the next horizon. Free our minds to focus on healing, releasing, and preparing for Mabon in the near future.

The Ritual of Reflection and Release
<Light the blue or silver candle. Place the bowl of water before you.>
This is the Moon of Reflection — a time to see both what we have gathered and what we must let go. Tonight, we walk between gratitude and release.
Gratitude for the Harvest
Hold your corn, nut, or seed in your hands. Speak aloud one blessing from this year that has nourished you. Place it beside the bowl of water as an offering of thanks.
Writing of Release
On your paper, write down what clouds your spirit — illusions, habits, or emotions that no longer serve you. Be honest and unafraid. Pisces calls us to dissolve these burdens.
Release into Water
One by one, fold the paper and drop it into the bowl of salt water, or send it to the flames of the fire. As you release, say:
“I dissolve what no longer serves me. I flow forward, lighter, truer, and free.”
Gazing into Intuition
Spend several moments gazing into the bowl of clear water, reflecting the candlelight. Allow images, thoughts, or feelings to surface. Pisces opens the doorway to inner sight — listen well
Offering and Gratitude
<Raise your hands skyward.>
“I offer thanks to the Earth for its abundance,
To the Moon for its light and wisdom,
To the waters for their cleansing and guidance,
To my own spirit for its resilience and truth.
I stand in balance between gratitude and release.
I walk forward in clarity, guided by the Corn Moon’s light.”
Closing the Circle
North – Earth
Steady strength of Earth, thank you for your grounding power. Remain with us in each step we take
West – Water
Waters of compassion, thank you for cleansing and intuition. Flow within us as a wellspring of truth
South – Fire
Flames of transformation, thank you for courage and drive. Burn bright within our hearts as we move forward
East – Air
Winds of vision, thank you for wisdom and clarity. May our thoughts remain free, sharp, and true
The circle is open but never broken. Go now in serenity, with hearts unburdened and spirits renewed. So mote it be.”]
